Spend the day, enjoy the social atmosphere and indulge in the quirky shopping experience with live music, craft beer, fine wines, cocktails and gourmet street food. Expect an entertainment line-up of blues, folk, rock, jazz, reggae and Afro-soul.

The market usually takes place on the last Saturday of the month with date changes in between to accommodate holidays and long weekends. It is open from 11h00 to 18h00 (sometimes later).

It offers excellent facilities including:
• Free parking at 012central in Sisulu Street. (Overflow parking is available in the State Theatre.)
• Outdoor and indoor seating accommodating big groups of friends and families
• Kids entertainment area and jumping castles
• Disabled and baby facilities

Find us at 012 Central in Pretoria or at one of our pop-ups at beautiful spaces in and around the CBD. Entrance fee is R50 (except on special occasions). Stay updated on dates and special occasions on Facebook or subscribe to the newsletter.

Join us for the unveiling of the MegaPhone-Me sculptures and a little trip around the city to kick-off the #LoveMyHood campaign.

These giant megaphone replicas portray crossing the diversity gap between the different groups in the capital. The sculptures are placed to face each other in two different areas of the city creating a platform for communication and giving the public a voice. They will be unveiled at the Pretoria Art Museum and Magnolia Dell.

Summer is slowly coming to an end and the responsibilities of #adulting weigh heavy on the boredom scales. Lucky for you, we are launching a new campaign to re-introduce you to the vibrant colors and excitement of our beloved city!

A modern urban market is too simple a way to describe Market@TheSheds, which features an extensive live entertainment program and is active in several community campaigns that drive inner city rejuvenation. #LoveMyHood is one of these campaigns and after much anticipation will be launched this February!

The aim of the #LoveMyHood campaign is to develop an active citizenry project in the city of Tshwane, focused on creating litter-free, environmentally-friendly and well-kept neighbourhoods where the community sees themselves as partners in working towards a more beautiful, lively and safe city.

Set in a trendy multi-space precinct of 012central, Market @ the Sheds is a monthly gathering spot where people from all walks of life can experience the true colours of the capital! Local fashionistas, art lovers, foodies, tourists, trendsetters and socialites of all ages find themselves indulging in delicious street foods and craft cocktails, whilst collectible designer goods spread curiosity, and the smell of hand-made leather adds to the spice of it all!

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

ITU
A South African singer-songwriter known for his ability to raise chills with his vocal magic. His inspiration is derived from the legendary artists such as Linda Kekana, Jonathan Butler, Sam Smith, Emile Sande and John Legend to name a few. His unique contemporary style can be described as a fusion of Afro-pop, RNB, Soul and Jazz.

Sweet Voice masters
A unique group of artists who perform different genres of music from light Opera, love songs, Traditional songs (All cultures) and Classical Gospel. Their footprint is based
in the Northern side of Pretoria, with their main focus being to broaden this reach to the further outskirts of our beautiful country.

Nick May
The lead singer of The Nick May Band has become a favourite of the market and is armed with his guitar and deep baritone as he performs a wide variety of golden oldies. Influences include Michael Buble, Josh Turner, Joe Balck, Theuns Jordaan, BlackByrd and Ed Sheeran.

Music Flair
An afro soul jazz band, based in Pretoria and established in March 2014, who aspire to innovate and enhance the beauty of jazz music, Afro music & soul music. Although these are the genres they specialize in, as musicians they believe in diversity and creativity in this craft. The band bring an innovative way of how people, especially youngsters, perceive music.
"We live, move and have our being in music and the passion we have does indeed manifest in what we do."

DeeVah
An established and internationally recognized Singer, Songwriter, Performer, Independent Recording Artist, Producer, Composer, Theatre Actress and Dancer. She completed her training in Musical Theatre (Music/Singing, Dance, Acting) at the renowned New York Film Academy Institution in New York City (USA) in December 2016 where received a scholarship to complete her studies. This is one performance that cannot be missed.

Dexterity
This Multi-faceted, culturally diverse Afro / Country-Funk Jam Band consists of the Lead Singer/Guitarist (Nick May), Electric Guitarist, Drummer, Keyboardist and Bass Guitarist. Dexterity takes their influences from all over Africa, playing to complex arrangements with simplistic melodies that draws the crowd into a powerful experience. Influences include: Dave Matthews Band, Desmond & The Tutus, Mango Groove, Dr Victor & The Rasta Rebels, Vusi Mahlasela, Phish, Cat Empire, Snarky Puppy, The Grateful Dead and Nomadic Orchestra.

Market@theSheds is project of the Capital Collective, a non-profit driving inner-city rejuvenation in Pretoria CBD. Described as an African urban experience, it merges the best of city markets with the flavours of South Africa’s Capital, with local entrepreneurs, designers, artists and musicians forming the bulk of the exhibition. Inspired by the beauty and realness of the city and its people, the market aims to provide a platform for local economic and cultural development in the city.

The atmospheric ambiance draws a diverse group of people from all walks of life: fashionistas, art lovers, foodies, musicians, shopaholics, tourists, explorers, trendsetters and socialites of all ages. Visitors like to hang out with friends or family and enjoy gourmet coffee, craft beer, fine wines, cocktails, gourmet food, laid-back music, design, fashion, art and interesting people.

All in all, there are between 50 and 60 stands at the market with a pop up art exhibition and an open stage where local artists create a laid-back, acoustic, jazzy atmosphere. It is located at 012central, the trendy multi-space precinct in the Pretoria CBD.

Directions & Parking

Market@theSheds takes place at 012 Central, 381 Helen Joseph Street in Pretoria.

There is ample safe parking at 216 Sisulu Street (012Central Parking Location) which gives you direct access to the market.

Visitors can also park at the State Theatre, 140m away from the street entrance at 381 Helen Joseph Street.
