Market@theSheds – June Jams

We are thrilled to announce that The Muffinz Music will grace Market @ the Sheds‘ stage as our main act this month!

Their music is new, yet so soulful, so accessible, so honest and so innocent, that it appeals to all age groups, races, classes and sexes. The Muffinz have unleashed their mysteriously beautiful world of eclectic soul to the South African public and they are set for world domination.

Market@theSheds is the Capital Collective’s monthly market-event, celebrating Art, Food, Design, Fashion and Music, aimed at showcasing the talent and initiative of people residing in Tshwane. One of the highlights of the day is the live bands that always get everyone on their feet.

The market merges the best of city markets with the flavours of South Africa’s Capital, with local entrepreneurs, designers, artists and musicians forming the bulk of the participants. It takes place every last Saturday of the month at 012central in the CBD, the trendy, multi-space precinct development by City Property – the place to be seen in the city.

The vibe of the market draws a diverse group of people from all walks of life: fashionistas, art lovers, foodies, musicians, shopaholics, tourists, explorers, trendsetters and socialites of all ages. Visitors like to hang out with friends and family and enjoy craft beer, fine wines, cocktails, gourmet food, jazzy music, design, fashion, art and interesting people.

Market lovers can also look forward to Busisiwe Mutlaka (MaryB Music) who is a young, passionate music lover and was also seen on South African hit show The Voice earlier this year.

An expression that goes beyond the artistic form, but a spiritual quest through the use of Bapedi sound and esoteric clinical improvisation; Azah World Music the band was formed in 1992 and has performed in places like Holland, Mexico, England, France, Switzerland, Sweden.

With their haunting debut single Sulphur, wife Jean-Louise Nel and husband Alex Parker, launched their Johannesburg based band Academie. Multi-instrumentalists Jean-Louise and Alex are both established musicians in the South African music scene. Academie represents the synthesis of two evolved artistic sensibilities.

Simmering to music that is all about elevating people in a dimension where there is peace, love and unity in harmony; Zionruts Family is a Zim Roots Reggae Band that was formerly founded by two of its lead singers inspired by the likes of Reggae legends such as Bob Marley, Roots Radics, Twinkle Brothers to mention a few.
