Dear Friend of the Market@theSheds
To make the most of the last few days of an almost forgotten Summer, we decided to take our first POP-UP Market to the old Moyo’s Building in the Fountains Valley, Pretoria. (Yes we know it’s not city centre, but it might be the last bit of green we see before the chilly season is upon us!)
We promise a laid-back day with local art, design, food and a great line-up of music (including the winners and runners-up of our Battle of the Bands last month). The programme will be roughly as follows:

13h00 The Sextons
14h30 Rock Ruler and the Jam Gang
We have a very exciting sponsor JUMPING on board too. We can’t say much yet, but if you’re in the market for an exciting job opportunity, make sure you are there on Saturday. Kids will also have plenty of entertainment.
Come hang out with friends and family if you like a vibrant, colourful atmosphere, prefer gourmet coffee, craft beer, deli-style food, laid-back music, good design, art and interesting people.
Market@the Sheds is Pretoria’s first POP-UP market and will be appearing in beautiful spaces and buildings in and around the Pretoria CBD every last Saturday of the month. Come explore off-the-beaten-track venues, forgotten gems and new treasures with us, all in view of city rejuvenation and local enterprise development. We will be thrilled to introduce you.

Did you know?
The “old Moyo” building was built in the 1880’s as a Victorian-Style hotel. Apparently it was also used as a kiosk about 60 years ago and later it functioned as a restaurant called Toulouse, until 1995. Plans to convert it back into a hotel was made, but this never got off the ground which resulted in the building being vacant for a considerable period of time, which resulted in it being severely damaged. A few years later, the building was restored again and housed the Moyo’s Restaurant until 2014. Unfortunately it is standing empty again, which makes it a target for vandalism once again.
We hope to bring some life and awareness to this beautiful forgotten corner of the Fountains Valley.
